Unlike traditional master's degrees, these degrees combine an interdisciplinary curriculum with business training and hands-on experience, enabling graduates to acquire a new "tool-set" for success in a business environment.

Why Rice?

What's New

Welcome back to campus! Spring semester 2016 is happening and we are looking forward to working with our students and faculty to make this a successful semester for all.

A special welcome also to our incoming spring students who are ready to hit the ground running after the spring orientation session including lunch and advising with faculty.

Our own David Alexander – Program Director of the Space Studies Program and Director of the Rice Space Institute gave a recent TED talk

We are also welcoming a variety of speakers to our spring seminar series including Dr. Billy Cohn,  Texas Heart Institute; Dr. Lewis Foxhall, MD Anderson; Leticia Vega, NASA/Jacobs Engineering; Dr. Tim Garson, TMC Health Policy Institute;Jason Saunders, Arnold, Knobloch & Saunders; Kaz Karwowski, RCEL;  Mary Purugganan, PSM Communication; Darcie Durham, Boeing; Liang Ge, ION Geophysical; Najib Abusalbi, Schlumberger; Paul Newman, Cherniere Energy; David Brymer, TCEQ; Ken Abdulah, BHP Billition; Leslie Duke, Burns &McDonnell.

Our programs will participate in the Rice Undergrad Info Fair to inform Rice undergrad students about opportunities to line their study plans up creating a pathway into our professional master's degrees which - with good planning - they could finish in a 5th year of studies at Rice, completing their B.S. and their M.S. degrees back-to-back.

We continue receiving interest in  the combined PSM/MBA tracks by incoming students who have to apply to both programs at the same time to be able to qualify for this opportunity. If you are interested, make sure to submit two separate applications: one to the Jones School of Business and one to the respective PSM track. (Sorry for the inconvenience, we hope to improve the application process as we are moving forward!)

Prospects, friends and students are encouraged to become a  PSM Facebook Site Friend to see photos of all our recent activities and be kept informed about upcoming events.

Corporate support is essential for the program and its students and we like to encourage others to follow in the footsteps of companies such as Baker Hughes, Chevron, etc to join them in supporting an education that prepares students for positions in industry and business. Corporate support will help us attract high-quality students to our program. Please do not hesitate to contact us at profms@rice.edu , if you are interested in learning more about the program, would like to meet our students for lunch, or take advantage of a speaking opportunity on campus.
